When choosing a home health care provider, it’s important to ask certain questions to make sure the company you choose to work with is qualified. In most cases, caregivers spend a lot of time with their clients, so having someone your family can trust is important. Below is a list of questions you should typically consider when choosing a home health provider:

How does Nurses Today select its caregivers?

Our applicants are drug screened, background checked, and reference checked. Our caregivers range in age, experience, sex and race. Our caregivers are thoroughly questioned during interviewing, and our Director of Nursing focuses heavily on learning the personalities of our caregivers and clients to ensure the best possible match.

Is Nurses Today licensed and insured? Are your caregivers licensed?

Nurses Today is a licensed home care provider in the State of Texas and is fully insured. We have taken the necessary precautions to protect the liability of our clients.  All of our caregivers are licensed as RNs, LVN, CNAs or Certified Home Health Aides.

Do I have to sign a contract? Do I have to commit to a certain amount of hours of service?

We do ask our clients to sign a non-binding agreement, not tying them into any service minimum, but to ensure them that our company is agreeing to provide a service to them as a client in their home or current living situation. Our agreement also discusses care and pricing options, and is a statement of agreement between both parties.

Why should I use an agency, such as Nurses Today when I can hire a family friend?

Choosing Nurses Today for your home care needs guarantees that care givers working in a client’s home are licensed and insured. It also ensures that if a caregiver needs time off, or has a family emergency, another caregiver can work in their place. Not having someone for back-up can leave the family, and the client, in a bind. It’s also important to use an agency when filing claims for long-term care insurance.

How quickly can I start services?

Typically, service requests can be filled within twenty four (24) hours. We do ask for as much advance notice as possible to make sure the necessary paperwork and assessment is done prior to staffing the client. We also like to meet our clients prior to starting services with them to ensure we match them with the perfect caregiver.

What are the payment options?

Nurses Today accepts long-term care insurance, worker’s compensation insurance, VA Aid and Attendance benefits, and private pay (check or credit card). We will assist clients in establishing insurance claims, as well as applying for VA benefits.

Can I meet my caregiver in advance?

With enough notice before staffing a shift, a client can request to meet their potential caregiver prior to service. In last minute situations, this option may not be available.

Are your caregivers employees of Nurses Today or are they independent contractors?

All caregivers are employees of Nurses Today and the Company pays all required federal and state taxes as well as employer Social Security taxes.

Why should I trust Nurses Today with the care of my loved one or myself?

Nurses Today strives to be the leading provider of home health care services in the DFW area. We spend a lot of time getting to know our clients and caregivers.  Being locally owned and operated, we offer our clients flexibility and options that may not be available with similar franchise operations.
