About Nurses Today, Inc.

Known For Reliability
Since 1982, families, physicians and health care institutions have relied on Nurses Today for quality home health care and temporary staffing needs. Our services range from assistance for the chronically ill to clinical nursing in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Nurses Today is licensed by the State of Texas and is dedicated to providing the highest standards of attentive care.

Quality Caregivers - Professionally Staffed
At Nurses Today, our exceptional staff is comprised exclusively of experienced RN’s, LVN’s and certified health professionals. Each caregiver is individually interviewed by a Nurses Today RN, and then screened for current licensure, work history and personal references. Only the most caring, professionally skilled applicants are asked to join our team. Each Nurses Today caregiver is bonded and covered by professional liability as well as workers compensation insurance. To ensure our high standards - - and your expectations - - are met, on-site visits are regularly conducted by the Nurses Today management team.

Administrative Strength - Clinically Responsive
Our office is managed by a highly skilled Registered Nurse, who oversees the daily activities of staff assignments. Ensuring that your needs are met, consistently and attentively, is her main focus. Our trained coordinating staff answers your phone calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays and weekends. You can count on Nurses Today to be there - - exactly when you need us.

Anita Porco - RN, Founder, Owner, CEO

"Success is helping other people," says Anita Porco.

A woman of her word, helping is the heart of her existence, personally and professionally. Nursing was a natural for Anita, she followed her older sisters into Western Pennsylvania School of Nursing and ultimately the profession. At age 20, she was in charge of a 40-bed hospital unit as head nurse already displaying the skills to lead her own company in the years ahead. Her natural business sense came from her father whom she credits with her "spunkiness". Her father came to America at age 15 from Italy. He was a business owner and taught Anita precious lessons about dealing with people.

After moving to Dallas in 1979, Anita worked with a medical staffing company for a few years. She opened Nurses Today, Inc in February 1983 as a one-person office in an executive suite. Since that day, Nurses Today has earned an unparalleled reputation among the medical community and with area citizens as being the best in delivering individualized care.

Anita leads by example and lives by the motto "always treat the customer with dignity and respect". She always teaches the other gentle lesson she learned in her youth...those whom we help also help us. She spends much of her time doing volunteer work and has a special place in her heart for United Cerebral Palsy Association where she serves on the National Board of Directors. Anita is also very passionate about women in business. As one of the founders of the North Texas Women’s Business Council and the National Association of Women Business Owners, she has worked tirelessly to enlist corporate America’s support of women-owned businesses.

Just like its founder and owner, Nurses Today is a company with integrity. It continues to exist on the principles of exceptional care and uncompromising quality. "We take great pride in what we do, and this pride pervades the entire Nurses Today organization. Our goal is to provide our clients with the same level of care we would give to members of our own family".
